This morning HSG Coordinator Anne McConnell was invited to comment on violence against women in Haiti on the main BBC programme on women’s issues. Anne was able to explain that whereas organisations such as KOFAVIV (Commission of Women Victims for Victims) do an amazing job in supporting rape victims and other women in the many IDP camps, it is a scandal that so little has been done by the UN and others to provide effective protection and more importantly to build sufficient houses which would be the best protection.
