London Rally for Haiti. Global Women’s Strike has organised a Rally for Haiti on 16 December to support Haiti’s Day of Action outside the US Embassy, 24 Grosvenor Square (nr Marble Arch tube) from 12.30 to 2 p.m. The day will mark the 25th anniversary of the election of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
Haiti is currently in the midst of elections – parliamentary, then presidential, the final round scheduled for 27 December. Since August tens of thousands of people have repeatedly taken to the streets to protest an “electoral coup”.
