Eramithe Delva of KOFAVIV
KOFAVIV is a self-help social support group for women victims of rape and violence based in Port-au-Prince. Having lost their offices and health clinic in the earthquake, they have now regrouped to fight an epidemic of sexual violence in the displaced camps. KOVAVIV is fighting the harsh social and living conditions, in order to prevent gender and sexual violence
Georges Werleigh of ITECA
ITECA is a 32-year old grassroots development group helping poor Haitian farmers develop basic technology and advocate for their rights. ITECA works to make rural life sustainable, to prevent the mass migration to Port-au-Prince that was such a factor in the massive death toll in the earthquake.
